Mom’s Pumpkin Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 can pumpkin
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ¾ cup nuts

Instructions

  • Cream sugar and oil. Add pumpkin and mix well. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Pour into 3 greased bread pans.
  • Bake 1 hour at 350°.

Notes

Original recipe called for a #5 can of pumpkin. The modern equivalent is a large can of pumpkin, not pumpkin pie mix.
