Spicy Crab Bites

Course Appetizer: Hors d’oeuvres

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh crabmeat
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c fine dry breadcrumbs
  • ½ c finely chopped red pepper
  • c finely chopped parsley
  • 3 T mayonaise
  • 1 T finely chopped green onions
  • 1 T coarsely ground pepper
  • ½ t salt
  • 1 ½ t Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 t Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ t dry mustard
  • 1 ⅛ t red pepper flakes

Step 2

  • ½ c dry breadcrumbs
  • 2 T vegetable oil
  • 2 T butter

Instructions

  • Combine main ingredients in a bowl; mix well.
  • Shape into patties, using 1 tablespoon mixture for each.
  • Dredge in 1/2 cup breadcrumbs.
  • Combine oil and butter in a large skillet. Heat over medium high heat.
  • Cook crabmeat patties in hot oil mixture until golden brown on both sides.
  • Drain well on paper towels.
  • Arrange on tray. Garnish if desired.
